M6S/N150/12GB RAM
This is the second device that I bought from Morefine; the first one was the M6/N200 (I run it on Pop!_OS) which I am still very happy with.
I originally bought this one with the intention of installing Linux Mint on it, but another reviewer mentioned ZorinOS, which sparked my interest (cheers mate!), so I’ve tried Zorin instead and I love it so far. The fan is really super quiet, I can barely hear it but YMMV. The left USB-C port on the backside is a full function type port, so if you have a compatible monitor, you can use the M6S with a single USB-C cable for a cleaner look. As it is not mentioned explicitly in the article description: There is only a mounting option for a single 2242 SSD, so if you plan to install a 2230 you’ll need an adapter (or hope the lid will hold it in place).
Difficulties I encountered:
Being on a budget I ordered the version w/o storage (I had a SSD from an older laptop in spare). Unfortunately, I had to find out that the SSD screw of the M6S wouldn’t budge and instead of unscrewing the screw, the screwdriver was just messing up the screw’s slot. Eventually I could remove it by placing a balloon over the screw to increase the grip of the screwdriver and I’m really glad that helped as it’s a mushroom head screw so you wouldn’t even be able to grab it with pliers. I hope I was the only one affected and since I was able to quickly resolve the problem, and I am otherwise very satisfied with the mini PC, I will not include that in the rating and mention it for transparency reasons only.
tl;dr Would buy again.
